Film in NoCo Presents: FC3 Vid Fest

FC3 VidFest is a showcase of locally-created fanvids, fancams and AMVs with awards judged by local filmmakers and audience members.

Rules

What is "fan?"

Submitted vids must be your own work. A parent or guardian may submit on your behalf if you are not old enough to create an account on a hosting site (e.g. YouTube)

Submitted vids must draw from source material you were not involved in the creation of. This could be a TV show, movie, cartoon, anime, comic, concert, play or other relevant medium. If your best friend made a short film, you can use that as a source material. If you starred in that short film, you may not. If you recorded a live performance, but were otherwise uninvolved in its production, you may use that footage. For the purposes of this event, fanfilms and remakes do not count, BUT you should check out Sweded to Death.

What is "vid?"

For the purposes of this event, a "vid" is elements from a piece of media shown in sequence to convey a narrative. This can include classic vids, AMVs, slideshows, animatics, among others. All vids must be submitted as video files (.mp4, .mov, etc). For this event, time-lapses of art creation, cosplay GRWMs, and video essays do not count as vids.

Content Guidelines

All vids should be equivalent to a PG-13 or lower rating, in compliance with general FC3 guidelines. Your source material does not need to be PG-13, but the final product should.
  • Sex: Romance in submitted videos should be kept to respectful levels. Costumes should follow FC3 Cosplay Guidelines.
  • Violence: Violence should be fantastical and fictional. Strawberry syrup ✅, sausage casings ❌.
  • Language: Coarse language should be kept to a minimum. Use radio edits of songs where appropriate.
  • Drugs: Please do not include clips of substances illegal in the state of Colorado.

Use of AI Tools

AI tools that enhance existing material, such as Topaz, are permitted. AI tools that generate new material, such as Dall.E, are not permitted.

Submit your vids here!
